Today, we open the doors to the finest talent that ever graced the computer screens in the history of our fantasy league. This honor will be handed out to those Sunday soldiers that gave their blood, sweat, and ligaments for us on the couch and only the best of the best will be enshrined in the Dirty Dozen Hall of Fame. The first legend to be celebrate happens to be the most dominating player we've ever witnessed in the Dirty Dozen. He was a multi-faceted talent who earned most of his points on the ground but was also a feared threat when thrown the ball. He crossed the goal line more than anyone else we've seen and did so in various fashions. He played for a team that most of us didn't care for but if you owned this man in fantasy, he made you give a stealth fist pump around your friends when he scored. Below was a pose we are all too familiar with because this running back was running into the painted area seemingly every time you tuned into a Chargers game. Of course by now you know who I'm talking about. I'm talking about LaDainian Tomlinson.
Let's take a few minutes to run down L.T.'s D12 stats for the time he was in our league. Tomlinson was an absolute force and the unquestioned #1 pick from 2003-2007 and J.P. was the lucky owner to draft him and was able to keep him for his glory years. Tomlinson was healthy and productive for almost all of his fantasy career as he missed only four total games while in our league, which is almost impossible for a running back. He very well could be the last running back to lead our league in total points for a season, which he accomplished in 2006. In that same season, L.T. averaged 26 points a game for diZerega thanks for 1815 yards on the ground and 508 receiving yards. Tomlinson scored a staggering 33 touchdowns that season, two of which came with Tomlinson throwing the ball. Tomlinson was apart of two championship teams during his time in the Dirty Dozen. He won a title for his favorite owner, J.P. in 2003 and was the Fantasy Bowl MVP for Zach Suer in 2004. L.T. was the recipient of the Terrell Davis award in 2006 as well as being the Most Outstanding Player that same year. Tomlinson played in a time of minimal D12 trophies or else he would have many more awards to boast about. LaDainian ranked in the top three for running backs for six straight years and was top seven in PAR during that same time. He was incredibly consistent and incredibly dominant at fantasy football, week after week, year after year.
But enough from me. Let me introduce the man of the hour. He is the greatest fantasy player we've ever seen in this league to date and I would ask that you all click your mouses in applause for the first Dirty Dozen Hall of Famer....LaDaininan Tomlinson.
[Tomlinson steps up to podium to make speach]
Thank you commissioner. It's great to see all the D12 owners that cheered for me and against me in attendance today. I first want to thank the commish for opening this lovely hall of fame and for being the first D12er to show faith in me out of TCU when he took me in the 2001 draft. I want to thank Zach for being a loyal supporter of me and for all the drunken text he sent me when I wasn't on his team. I wish we could've played more seasons together, too, man. I appreciate all the love I received over the years from fantasy owners everywhere but I would be remiss if I didn't take some time to personally thank the owner that stuck by me for most of my career, J.P. diZerega. J.P., it's hard for me to describe what an honor an a pleasure it was to be your main man for so many years. Under your ownership I was able to take my game to new heights and accomplish many great things in the Dirty Dozen. I can't think of an owner-player relationship that was as strong as ours and I will forever remember all the points I was able to score for you during my fantasy career. I only wish I could've been on more of your championship teams but as you all know, I wasn't all that good at winning playoff games while I was in the NFL, too. [awkwardly laughs]
Thanks again to everyone for your support and love throughout my career. I was told that I gave my owners more boners than any porn site ever could and I want you to know that I'm truly creeped out by comments like that. It's been so much fun to be apart of your little fantasy league and I was thinking we could have a little more fun before I go. For one final time, let's all get up on our feet and do the L.T. Electric Glide.
